Shipping policy
1. Shipping Schedule:
DG Exotics ships live animals Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. Orders are scheduled based on weather, animal readiness, and carrier availability. We will contact you to confirm a shipping date before your order is sent.
2. Shipping Carrier & Method:
All live animals are shipped via FedEx Priority Overnight to ensure the fastest and safest delivery. This is the only method approved for live reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate transport.
3. Safe Shipping Temperatures:
DG Exotics ships only when temperatures are safe at both the origin and destination. Heat packs, cold packs, and insulated packaging are used as needed.
If temperatures fall outside our safe range, shipping may be delayed for the safety of the animal.
4. Packaging Standards:
All animals are shipped using:
• Secure, ventilated containers
• Insulated boxes
• Heat or cold packs when required
• Clearly labeled “Live Animal” packaging
DG Exotics follows industry‑standard packing procedures to ensure safe arrival.
5. Delivery Requirements:
To qualify for our Live Arrival Guarantee:
• Someone must be present at the first delivery attempt
• OR the package must be picked up from a FedEx Hub within 2 hours of arrival
• The buyer must provide accurate shipping information
• The buyer must monitor tracking and be available for delivery
Failure to meet these requirements voids the guarantee.
6. FedEx Hub Pickup:
Hub pickup is the safest option and is strongly recommended. If you choose hub pickup, you must bring a valid ID and collect the package within 2 hours of arrival.
7. Shipping Delays:
DG Exotics is not responsible for delays caused by:
• FedEx
• Weather
• Incorrect addresses
• Missed delivery attempts
Live arrival guarantee does not apply during carrier delays or unsafe weather conditions.
8. DOA Reporting:
Any Dead‑On‑Arrival (DOA) or health concerns must be reported within 1 hour of delivery with:
• Clear photos
• Unedited video
• Proof of delivery time
Failure to provide required documentation voids all guarantees.
9. Shipping Costs:
Shipping costs are non‑refundable under all circumstances, including DOA, delays, cancellations, or buyer error.
10. Customer Responsibilities:
The buyer is responsible for:
• Providing accurate shipping information
• Being available for delivery
• Picking up hub shipments promptly
• Ensuring the animal is legal in their area
• Preparing the enclosure before arrival
DG Exotics is not responsible for issues caused by improper husbandry or failure to follow care guidelines.
11. Agreement:
By purchasing from DG Exotics, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Shipping Policy.
